Barbecue Sauce
Ingredients :
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 2 tsp. chopped garlic
- 2 tsp. chili flakes
- 3 cups pureed canned tomatoes
- 2 tbsp. cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 tbsp. chili powder
- 2 tsp. ground cumin
- salt, to taste
Cooking Procedures :
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet. Add onions, garlic and chili flakes. Sauté for 2 minutes, or until onions soften.
- Stir in tomatoes, vinegar, sugar, chili powder, cumin and salt. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, or until thickened.
- Makes about 2 cups.
