Strawberry Sorbet

Ingredients : 1-1/2 cup unsweetened strawberries, fresh or frozen 2 cup unsweetened apple juice 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 2 tbsp. cold water 4 tsp. cornstarch Cooking Procedures : Wash and hull fresh strawberries (or thaw frozen strawberries, if using). In a blender (or food processor), blend strawberries and apple juice until almost smooth. In a medium saucepan, combine strawberry mixture, sugar and cinnamon.  Cook over medium heat while stirring frequently for about 5 minutes or until sugar is dissolved. Sweet and Sour Sauce II

Ingredients : 1/2 tsp. salt 4 tbsp. sugar 1/3 cup water 2 tsp. soy sauce 4 tbsp. vinegar 1 tbsp. lemon juice 4 tbsp. tomato sauce or ketchup 1 tbsp. cornstarch dispersed in 1 tbsp. cold water 1 tbsp. oil Cooking Procedures : In a saucepan, combine all ingredients except cornstarch solution and oil.  Bring to a boil. Stir in cornstarch.  Cook until mixture becomes thick and transparent, about 3-5 minutes. Stir in oil to give it shine.  Remove from heat. Ingredients : 1 cup water 2 tbsp. white vinegar 6 tbsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. ketchup 1 tsp. oyster sauce 1 tbsp. cornstarch dissolve in 3 tbsp. water Cooking Procedures : In a small saucepan, mix all 6 ingredients except the cornstarch.  Heat over medium heat and bring to a boil. Lumpiang Sariwa Brown Sauce

Ingredients : 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed 1 tsp. salt 1/4 cup soy sauce 1 cup chicken stock (or water) 2 tbsp. cornstarch dissolved in 2 tbsp. water Cooking Procedures : Combine brown sugar, salt, soy sauce and chicken stock in a saucepan. Bring to a boil.  Add cornstarch solution and stir until thick, about a minute.  Remove from heat. Serve with Lumpiang Sariwa (Fresh Spring Rolls).  You may add 3 cloves minced garlic in the sauce to make it garlicky.  Or place the garlic separately for those only who like it.
