Garlic Bread

Ingredients :

· 1/2 cup butter
· 1 to 1-1/2 tsp. garlic powder (or 2 to 4 cloves garlic, minced)
· 1/4 tsp. salt
· 1/4 tsp. pepper, freshly ground
· 1 14-inch loaf French bread, slashed 2/3 of the way through at 1 inch intervals

Cooking Procedures :

1. Combine butter, garlic, salt and pepper in a 2 cup glass measure.

2. Microwave, uncovered, at (Power Level 4) for 1 to 2 minutes or until butter is softened, but not melted. Beat to blend.

3. Spread butter mixture between slashes in bread. Wrap loaf loosely in waxed paper if a soft loaf is desired and leave unwrapped for a slightly crisp loaf. Microwave at (Power Level 10) for 3-1/2 to 6 minutes or until hot.
